Just installed FileSeek, did a successful test to find a text string. But the text was in a .txt file.
When I try to find the same text string in an Open Office Writer (.odt) file I get no result. :-[
Does FileSeek work only with .txt files?

If FileSeek is supposed to find text within any file containing text, including .odt, .rtg, .doc, etc, what must I do to engage such functionality?

It should be able to search in those files if you have the File Handlers installed for them. First, check the Settings > File Handlers tab to make sure the extension is listed there. Then, on the Advanced tab in the main window, make sure that "Process File Contents Using File Handlers" is enabled :)

Hope that helps!
