I cannot find the number 222764 in Excel 2003 files. I can find the number when it's part of a text string (like a222764), or when it's a literal text string ('222764), but not when it's just a number.
Please help--FileSeek is a great tool.
Thanks,
--Dan
I just did a quick test and was able to find 222764 when formatted as a number in Excel 2003 files. Could you send me a test file that doesn't work for you so I can see if I can duplicate it here?
You can attach it here, or email it to me at support@binaryfortress.com
Thanks!

Still no luck. See attached screenshot.
Interesting! Is it Excel 2003 that you have installed on your system? Or do you have another version of Excel and you're just using the older file format?
Ok good to know, I was testing with Excel 2003 files but using a system that has Excel 2010 installed. I will test in a system with Excel 2003 and keep you posted.
Thanks!
One more quick question, which version of Windows are you running?
Finally had a chance to test this out in XP SP3 with Office 2003, but I can still find the number ok in the test files. The only difference I found was that my OffFilt.dll was a higher version than yours: 2006.0.5732.0
Could you send me a copy of your OffFilt.dll so I can test it out?
Also, is it only that number specifically? Or does it not find any values in number formatted cells?
Thanks!

It does not matter what the number is.
DLL attached. Thanks.

That did the trick! You may want to update your program to read the .dll version number and urge the user to apply the hotfix. I'm surprised this hotfix is not in SP3.
Thanks for helping me with this.
Good call, in the meantime, I've added it to the FileSeek FAQ.
Thanks for following up!
