I have a directory with many sub directories and there are a lot of binary files in it.Videos pictures archives. I want to do a search for a string but exclude the binary files and search only text files. I have done some searching here but came up empty.

TIA for the help

Do the binary files all have the same file extensions? If so, you can put them in the Exclude Files box, like so:

*.exe|*.bin|*.iso

I see that but was thinking there might be a flag that could be set to do that. I have a lot movies and exe's and archives on the drive I want to search.

Ah ok! It looks like we already have this on our feature request list, so I've added your vote. We'll be sure to let you know if/when we're able to implement it.

Thanks!
