i get this error mesage a lot
Failed to call IPersistFile:Load. [HR: -2147215604]

trying to search through CSV files

Since CSV files are just text based, you don't really need file handlers enabled to search them. Could you try disabling the "Process contents using file handlers" option on the Advanced tab and then try your search again?

Are the RTF files password protected?
