First, this program, even in the free version, is very valuable (compared to AgentRansack Free for example), because it allow to exclude folders from search :
the folder C:\Windows\WinSxS holds half of the files of my C: drive, excluding this folder makes the search 2x faster
(only 6s for a random file search on C: which contains 50Gb and 200 000 files, 12s for AgentRansack Free which can not exclude C:\Windows\WinSxS)
[C:\Windows\WinSxS : contains old versions of Windows dll and components to ensure programs compatibility with your system]

However a few GUI remarks about vertical space :
* the top panel (Search/Advanced/Date Filters/File Size Filters options) uses too much vertical space. The top panel should be more compact.
* the tabbed search is not functional in the free version, but the tab line consummes vertical space for nothing.
* the bottom panel (text content/preview) could auto-hide when there is no text query (when only searching from file names) and previews are disabled.
This way the number of visible found items would be significantly increased...

Other GUI remark : just a personal opinion
The 'Query' field is the default active field, when the program starts and when a search starts,
but the first thing you want to define for a new search is more the filenames than the text in these files,
so the 'Include Files' field would be better as the default active field

Thanks anyway for this program, which is about 20x faster than the Windows file search from the Explorer window
(I don't know what Microsoft is doing with the file search, which used to work fine in Windows XP)

Thanks for the feedback! Glad to hear you like FileSeek :)

We'll put these on our list for further investigation.

Thanks!
