1) i don't understand how to put the 2 sections in vertical layout. there is so much unused space on the right.
2) i don't like "more" in the results. can't i just see the lines with the word i searched?
1. Can you send me a screenshot of the layout you're referring to?
2. Can you send me a screenshot of this issue as well?
both here
1) Files on the left, content on the right
2) content just shows ALL the lines (of the selected files) having the words i searched for.
That screenshot is from a different file searcher which only issue i have is that i can't remove columns from the left panel. i saw i can do it with Fileseek but there is something different i don't like.
This is with FileSeek. same search
i tried the setting "show this many characters for each search result but i can't set something to see everything ( i tried 0).
Here you can see that i set a high number i can see more but also lines i haven't searched.
1. This is currently on our feature request list, so I've added your vote to it. We'll be sure to let you know if/when we're able to implement it in the future.
2. If you have the "Show this many lines before/after..." setting set to 0 it should do this, and it looks like it's working correctly in your first screnshot. Can you send me a screenshot of your search query?
Just to confirm you're setting the "Show this many lines before/after a search result" from the Advanced tab on the main window? If you're adjusting the "Show this many characters for each search result" in the FileSeek Settings > Result View Settings tab, that does have a minimum value of 100, it can't be set lower.
it's the one you said i can't put below 100 so i just put 10000000 (but the max is 10000) now, to see all the file but why do i get all the lines and not only the lines with the word i search?
then i use "match query to entire file" because in the first panel i want to see only 1 result for each file
And as i said i would like to see ONLY THE LINES WITH THE WORD I SEARCHED in the secon panel
Ah I see what you're saying, we don't currently support that with the "Match to entire file" setting but I've added it to our feature request list. We'll let you know if it's something we add in the future.
